Theorem is an alchemy of two key industries, represented by its team: Behavior Design and Hollywood Filmmaking.
You’ve likely heard of the latter. The former, maybe not so much.
Every strategic and creative decision we make is done with one goal in mind: triggering action in our users and audiences.
This is where Behavior Design is so useful; it’s a social science that essentially distills all human behavior into three controllable parts:
Motivation (the desire or willingness to do something)
Ability (how easy a certain behavior seems its potential actor)
Prompts (the triggers or cues that tell people to do something)
When applied to storytelling, Behavior Design ensures the audience absorbs and retains the material better.
Todd Young has been certified in behavior design for over five years and has used this approach to develop compelling, effective, and unique employee-facing communications initiatives for scores of the world's leading organizations. Highlights include robust projects for Verizon, Starbucks, Cardinal Health, Boeing, Deloitte and Macy's.
There is nothing more powerful than a good story. Why? Because audiences are made of people, and all people – you, me, even your grumpy neighbor – are social creatures. We can’t help it, it’s our nature. When we meet characters we can relate to, we imprint on them. We care about them. We’re invested. And their story resonates with us.
As Ms. Poppins once pointed out: you need that sugar for the medicine to go down.
At Theorem, that resonating story is our priority. We take the values and curriculum our clients need to pass along, and interweave them into characters, plot, and emotional stakes that engage our audiences and leave them moved, informed, and inspired.
